To be honest I came onto the MA course alittle confused and lost, as to where my art practice was heading. The foundation of my art practice is quite a childlike cathartic process, which has became the work itself. Predominately performance and drawings are the basis for my practice, but mixed media would be the correct term to use when describing my works. The MA has helped to refine my practice as I had initially set out to do.
1. Present a resolved body of original creative practice that has evidenced the systematic enhancement of your knowledge and understanding
I wanted to look at ways were my cathartic drawings and text could be stretched from the traditional form of pen and paper, into something else. So I experimented with making puppets from different types of children’s clay.
I also realised that there were limitation’s to children’s clay due to its availability and malleability. Not all children’s clay gave me the flexability to mould, fix and play with the material like a puppet would behave.
2. Analyse and critically reflect coherently upon your own practice and its context
3. Summarise and evaluate your overall progress and formulate a constructive plan for continuing Personal and Professional Development
