As suggested by my tutor Jonathan, I went to the media lab to experiment with layering in video. One of the technian’s was kind enough to help me. Matt showed me things from scratch on how to use Adobe Premiere, which I had never used before. I used my film Red to experiment with. I managed to learn the basics, especially using the effects feature. Once I was left on my own, I found the layering on top feature difficult to work with, so I deceided to put everything in two layers (more neat!), then I worked frame by frame. I was about to give up after 2 hours! It is was difficult, but worth it. The film definitely looked more interesting with the layers and the changing of hue’s. I was impressed.
I think I would benefit further, if I attended on a weekly basis, in order to improve on my video editing and photoshop skills.
