Media Lab

As suggested by my tutor Jonathan, I went to the media lab to experiment with layering in video. One of the technicians was kind enough to help me. The technician showed me things from scratch on how to use Adobe Premiere Pro, which I had never used before. I used my film Red to experiment with. I managed to learn the basics, especially using the effects feature. Once I was left on my own, I found the layering on top feature, difficult to work with, so I decided to put everything in two layers (neater!), I worked frame by frame. I was about to give up after 2 hours! It was difficult but worth it. The film definitely looked much more interesting with the layers and the changing of hues. I was impressed.

I think I would benefit further, if I attended on a weekly basis, in order to improve on my video editing and photoshop skills.
